(12) Beamsplitters are semi-mirrors which reflect part of the incident energy (absorb a relatively small part) and transmit the rest. Some are neutral and some are spectrally selective. ROLYN supplies both types. They are generally identified by ratio of Transmission to Reflection (T/R) at 550nm. Thickness tolerance for 1mm thick beamsplitters is ± .25mm typical.
(22) Rolyn Pellicle Beamsplitters are precision optical components. The actual pellicle is an ultra-thin membrane. It is bonded to the face of a precision lapped hard anodized aluminum frame which has been optically polished to achieve the absolute ultimate flatness commensurate with the dimensions of the ring.
