Each unit can be adjusted to the eye of the user for maximum sharpness of image and minimum eyestrain. Simply focus the eyepiece on the reticle and hold the comparator in close proximity to the item being inspected. The generous depth of field of the achromatic eyepiece will bring the test item into focus without the need for actual physical contact with the work. The large reticles show Scratch increments of 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, and Dig increments of 5, 10, 20, 40 and 50. The set is boxed for maximum convenience of transportation and storage.

 | | STATICMASTERS contain a sealed foil source of radioactive polonium 210 securely mounted under a protective metal grid. The polonium source emits alpha radiation, which is non-penetrating and, therefore, harmless externally. When alpha rays collide with air molecules they create a dense concentration of ionized air. The ionized air provides a conductive path to bleed away surplus ions from statically charged materials. The neutralization of static electricity on nonconductive materials eliminates the affinity for foreign particle attraction and prevents inaccuracy of measurements or handling problems.

The automated version has a motor driven turret and computer interface which can be equipped with a USB camera VM4-USB to recond and save video images. Both Centronic and RS232 interfaces are offered. All instruments offer 12 steps of test forace which is more than is required by ASTM E-384 or EN ISO 6507 or EN ISO 4545.
