The auxiliary tube is oriented away from the operator eyepiece tube to allow maximum freedom of system design. This assembly will accept the 45° eyepiece holder but not the 60°.

The operator can now coarse adjust with the large knob and then use the calibrated small knob (easily read to .01mm) to move over one millimeter up or down from the coarse adjust position.

Fine adjustment knob has 50 graduations in 360 degrees. It moves the fine adjust slide approx 1 mm per 5 revolutions of the knob.

 | | Focusing Tube features all-purpose mount and a big 2" focusing knob for the most precise control possible with a single knob control. Rack, pinion and dovetails are hand fitted for smooth-as-silk operation with no backlash. The plated steel pinion and brass rack are a full 6mm wide to provide continued smooth operation long after the narrow racks on inferior designs have lost their accuracy. The rack allows 68mm travel.
